Knause Goes Green

Cornell High School teacher, Mr. Dan Knause, has been quietly working this school year to protect our environment while teaching students about responsibility. Coaching Boys Into Men

Cornell Athletic Director Bill Sacco and volunteer assistant coach Charles Langston have recently received media attention for their successful implementation of the Coaching Boys Into Men Program. The program is designed to reduce dating violence and sexual assault. At Cornell the program was first instituted this school year by the football team under the leadership of Head Coach Ed Dawson and has now spread to basketball. Students learn from author, Chris Grabenstein

Mr. Ryan Rinaldi’s sixth grade students participated in a Pittsburgh Arts and Lectures videoconference with Mr. Chris Grabenstein, author of the Mr. Lemoncello series and the Wonderland series. Students were able to ask Mr. Grabenstein questions about how he develops his stories and what he did before becoming a writer.

Congratulations to Mrs. Casey Thomas and Mr. Andrew Oliastro who were recently selected as Keystone Technology Innovators. Keystone Technology Innovator Program identifies, invites and supports exemplary educators into a distinct and dynamic learning community. Keystones advocate the use of technology as a transformative tool to nurture the intellect, innovation and imagination of students.

Cornell Receives "Keystone Award for Academic Excellence"

Cornell Elementary has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education with a "Keystone Award for Academic Excellence" for being in the top 5% based on composite math and ELA scores and for meeting all Annual Measurable Objectives for the 2015-2016 school year. Our Title I team of Mrs. Carla Antoniades, Mrs. Cristy Meinert and Mrs. Lori Dzielski were in attendance to receive the award at the annual Pennsylvania Title I Improving School Performance Conference.

Girls Basketball Blackout Night

Come out and support our Lady Raiders as they take on Quigley this Thursday night for 1st place in the section. Game starts at 7 pm. Varsity game only. Go Lady Raiders!

Virtual Inaguration

Students in Mrs. Amy Kerr’s social studies class watched the inauguration of President Trump live through virtual reality. Students were able to turn their heads to watch the president and the crowds.

Open eBooks

Students & Teachers now have access to a library of eBooks through a coalition of literacy, library and technology partners: founding the Digital Public Library of America.

Cornell Elementary 5th graders recently participated in a graduation ceremony highlighting their completion of the program. The program is taught to Cornell 5th graders by representatives of FedEx! This is the second year for this partnership, thank you FedEx for your support and involvement in Cornell School District.
